![]() ![]() He is apparently working on a new version of Cube World, titled 'Omega', which is more in spirit with the old alpha version. If you want all the details on Cube World's ongoing development, click through the link below for the full piece. That Cube World Yeah, so, as Wollay has done before, he disappeared without a trace and just now, roughly an hour ago, posted a new trailer on his youtube channel. We just have a lot of additional work to do at the moment." Wollay elaborated to Kotaku, "At the moment there's just a lot of work going on behind the scenes, like customer support, server/website development, and currently moving to a new with more space for our development studio." He goes on to say that "the new update is coming along nicely," adding that the update is aiming to add "an option for a smaller user interface," plus reconfigurable controls and "a few new creatures." The team will also be making some balance adjustments to "make it easier at lower levels and harder at higher levels." Finally, he states that the team is "experimenting with some major changes," although he's unsure which will be included in the next patch. Wollay updated his Twitter for the first time since August 19th with the short message, "Don't be concerned, we're still working on Cube World. So of course, they took to the internet and bombarded developer Wollay's Twitter in search of an answer.Īnd an answer is what they got. ![]() Many of those fans, however, became a bit worried when updates from the developers on the game's future grew silent. Despite some missteps, there were plenty of eager fans willing to surrender their cash for some hands-on time with Cube World. Now that's sad.In July earlier this year, indie developer Picorama's part- Minecraft, part- Diablo sandbox title Cube World made its way into a paid alpha stage of development, granting players access to the game's alpha in exchange for an early purchase. You know what's truly pathetic? Gaslighting paying customers because they had the audacity to support a "struggling indie dev" and believing he wouldn't run away with the money, at a time where most game developpers with the same traction didn't. With your 10 years of hindsight, you were able to determine that players should not have purchased the game from the developper than took the money and ran, twice. Nothing that Wollay could have come up with could possibly match the. Games like Don't Starve, Rimworld, Arma 3, Kenshi, Insurgency, Xenonauts, Rust, Starbound, etc. Cube World was No Man’s Sky before No Man’s Sky a humble indie development where fans hoped to find their forever game. You're conveniently ignoring that most serious games continued development in Early Access at the time. You're talking about 2013 Early Access, as if it was anything like it is today. Maybe the game will be good, maybe it won't, screaming and crying about how you were scammed isn't going to change the fact that it was 100% your fault. The skill bar from the Alpha has returned, and Wollay has an array of abilities his 1 and 2 being the smash and whirlwind from Alpha, 3 being Rock Fist from the Steam release, and 4 being a new unknown ability (afaik) ![]() The ability also grabs the target, restricting their movement and requiring usage of a movement ability or dodge roll to escape Zombies, Code Snippets and Signature abilities □BlogĮxpanding of his mention of signature abilities, Wollay shows off the Zombie's signature ability Eat, which channels an attack that restores their health. New engine, weather effects, procedural models □Video □Blog We also don't know whether the game will be a free upgrade from the current Cube World (similar to how Alpha buyers got the Steam release for free) or if it will be a separate product. We don't know! Wollay has not made any indication as to when the game will be released. ![]() Cube World Omega is a new version of Cube World that is being designed on a new engine with new features, but in the spirit of the Cube World Alpha, which has often been described as a better game than Cube World's official steam release. On May 25th 2023, Wollay released a new blogpost detailing his latest project, Cube World Omega. Wollay's new blog: What is Cube World Omega? As usual, please continue to abide by the subreddit's rules, and report any spam or rule-breaking posts so that we can more easily find them.
